Cooperation - a better form of university networking? Implementing remote administration for widespread Windows networks

Abstract

In strong correlation with the still growing importance of computers in all areas of universities the demands on the machines themselves have risen to a maximum level. This development has been taken care of by the manufacturers of hardware and the developers of software. On the other hand the amount of information that has to be handled is still growing. The process of globalisation has reached universities, too. So external developments call for a cooperation, which can be supported by a sophisticated network structure. In addition, in Germany a better cooperation between the areas of research and teaching has also been discussed, focussing especially on the financial aspect.
