Malfunctioning of electronic home-entertainment equipment in the presence of strong rf fields is of growing concern to the con­ sumer, the government, and the various radio services involved. Even though the amateur service represents a small fraction of the total number of transmitting installations spread throughout the nation, the increasing frequency of EMI complaints is posing a threat to its continued growth and existence.
