Abstract

A nine port antenna with pattern and polarization diversity characteristics is proposed. The antenna exhibits an overlapping impedance bandwidth of $1.9\%(3.64-3.71\mathrm{GHz})$ corresponding to the excitation of the ports. The antenna design consists of four shared aperture quasi-Yagi elements and one patch antenna element. The four quasi-Yagi shared apertures oriented along the four edges of a square copper plate provides the four end-fire and four omni-directional patterns, leading to the design of pattern and polarization diversity MIMO antenna.
