The proposed broadband antenna is designed at the operating frequency of 4 GHz and simulated using TLM model and HFSSv.15, respectively. Wireless standards like WiMAX (3.6 GHz), Hi-LAN (5.15-5.35 GHz), WLAN IEEE802a (5.2GHZ) and DSRC (5.850-5.925 GHz ) lie in this frequency range. The proposed broadband antenna with compact dimension of 32 x 22 x 1.6 mm3 is fabricated on FR4 dielectric material having εr of 4.4 & tanδ of 0.02. S11, VSWR & bandwidth for the proposed antenna are measured. The bandwidth with S11 less than -10 dB is measured as 3770 MHz in the frequency range from 2.70 to 6.47 GHz. Peak gain of 5.22 dBi and radiation efficiency of 90- 98% are achieved for frequency at 6 GHz. The radiation patters at different frequencies are found to be stable. Comparisons between the simulated and measured results for the proposed antenna show a close agreement.
