Abstract
The simplicity of thermoacoustic engines promises power at low cost and high reliability, but demands a second output conversion, from acoustic to more useful form. Electric output is the most highly prized form. At CFIC, and now Q drive, we have been experimenting with our resonant linear alternators as active dynamic components in thermoacoustic machines, providing this conversion.
