Abstract

In recent years, many fire incidents caused by carelessness toward welding and fusing safety have occurred at industrial sites in Korea. This negligence has led to large-scale fires, resulting in devastating and irreversible national social losses. To address this issue, a safety awareness investigation was conducted by surveying welders and analyzing the major fire accidents caused by welding. In addition, a more accurate fire-generation mechanism for sandwich panels, urethane foam, and nonwoven fabrics was scientifically derived by conducting fire reproduction tests in which combustibles were surrounded by sparks during welding.
