Abstract

Representation problems that are experienced when object-oriented programming systems are used for representing knowledge in knowledge-based systems are discussed, Object-based knowledge representation systems-systems expressively designed for representing knowledge in the form of objects and classes-are described. A simple object-based knowledge representation system is presented, its strengths are examined, and some implementation problems and their solutions are discussed.<>
