Abstract
This research explains the characteristics of the insulator coated with Room Vulcanized Temperature (RTV) and non coated from the leakage current by looking at the electrical circuit parameters of the insulator under clean fog conditions. To find out the characteristics of the electrical equivalent circuit, a simulation was conducted using ATPDraw software. The simulation was conducted by validating the simulation result of the leakage current parameter with the experiment result that consists of the waveform, magnitude, and harmonic component. Several insulator conditions were simulated: voltage test variation and pollution conductivity variation. The results show that the greater the test voltage applied to the insulator make the non-linear resistance circuit parameter having a smaller limit range. For conductivity, variations have a similar effect with test voltage variation. Meanwhile, the coated effect on the insulator greatly affects the equivalent circuit parameters
