Abstract
Variations in the spectrum of a ground-penetrating radar signal record characteristics of the material through which the signal has propagated. One measure of this rich source of information is frequency dependent attenuation. These data can help measure variations in clay fraction, the total volumetric water content, or identify the location of groundwater contaminants.
