Abstract

This article analyzes the mechanisms of TCP Veno algorithm with its existing problems, the reasons of packet transmission loss cannot be distinguished accurately, and proposes a novel end-to-end congestion control algorithm called TCP Eveno. The TCP Eveno improves the congestion status differentiation mechanism and congestion control mechanism, in order to distinguish the cause of the transmission loss more accurately, and achieve higher network resources utilization. Experiments have been conducted to compare Eveno algorithm with Reno and Veno algorithm in NS-2 simulation environment, when the packet loss rate is higher (0.01, 0.1), throughput of Eveno algorithm remains at a higher level than Veno and Reno.
