The principle of limiting factors as applied to the accumulation of metals by algae

Abstract

Cases and possible reasons for the absence of an evident relationship between the content of metals in the environment and seaweeds are discussed based on the literature and original data. A direct proportional relationship between these parameters comes to light only at elevated environmental metal concentrations.
