Abstract

Introduction : The Covid-19 pandemic raises fear and anxiety, especially for hospitalized patients with covid 19. One of the non-pharmacological therapies to reduce anxiety is murrotal therapy. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of murrotal therapy on the anxiety level of Covid 19 patients in the HCU Incovit Room, Dr Saiful Anwar Hospital, Malang. Methods: This study used a pre-experimental one group pre- and post-test design. Results: This study used a pre-experimental one group pre- and post-test design. Sampling using purposive sampling with a sample of 39 respondents. The instrument used is STAI (State-Trait Anxiety Inventory) which contains 20 state anxiety items and 20 trait anxiety items. The data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test and obtained a p-value smaller than (0.005 < 0.05), which means that there is a significant average difference between pre and post based on the measured STAI score. Conclusions: The conclusion is that giving murottal therapy has an effect on reducing anxiety levels. The recommendations from this study can be used as the basis for hospital policies in implementing counseling for patients who experience anxiety to be able to do murottal therapy to reduce the anxiety level of covid 19 patients.
