Abstract

In this chapter, an overview of the processes of spolia as a distinctive cultural practice from the ancient times to ours, architect Aleksandr Mergold frames the possibilities embedded in the radical reuse of the remnants of the 20th century in the contemporary moment-its materials, inventions, aesthetics and debris.
