Abstract

In this paper, we present the design of the WiMAX based radio access network to provide data coverage to 802.16 enabled devices. The design provides a multihop solution to provide wide area coverage to users and targets maximizing the radio resource utilization. We propose efficient route construction, data scheduling for increasing the utilization of the backhaul network and base station selection algorithm for end users for efficient load balancing.
