Healthy children demonstrate normal range of selenium and iodine concentration. Abstract

Children with sonographic evidence of autoimmune thyroiditis living in Vitebsk and Minsk regions demonstrate decreased concentration of iodine and selenium in the body as compared to healthy children. Iodine concentration in healthy children is 193.7 - 203.5 gg/L, and in children having AIT - 98.7 -101.3 gg/L. Selenium concentration in the hair of healthy children is 0.38 - 0.58 gg/kg, and in children having AIT - 0.14 - 0.18 gg/kg. Healthy children demonstrate normal range of selenium and iodine concentration.
