Abstract
Wide-band coaxial switch is widely used for transmitting and switching signal in automatic test system and test instruments due to its low insertion loss, bandwidth, and long life. As a kind of microwave switch, matrix switch has 6 RF input and output terminals, which feature is that any two ports can be connected to each other. Thus, the central conductor of the edge line must be cut into six wedges, resulting in an increase in the discontinuity of the coaxial transition to the edge-line. In this paper, a new design of matrix switch is investigated, which has three transmission modes, so it can flexibly transmit microwave signal. The switch can transmit signals all the way down to dc, with the highest frequency is available up to 40 GHz. In this manuscript, the whole structure, key designs, and measured results of this new matrix switch is demonstrated [1]-[3].
