Abstract

We present a wideband Tightly Coupled Dipole Array (TCDA) with integrated balun and novel parasitic superstrate capable structure. The Array achieves over 7:1 bandwidth (0.25-1.81GHz) with VSWR < 3. The height of the array is $\boldsymbol{0.09}\boldsymbol{\lambda}$ at the lowest frequency band. Compared with conventional TCDAs, the integrated balun and dipoles (radiating elements) are printed on a PCB, which is low-cost and light weight. The Array can be applied to small ultra-wideband phased antenna array system.
