Abstract

A field construction evaluation program was conducted at selected sites for a feasibility study of various methods and materials for construction of Mead-Phoenix Project 500 kV Transmission Line foundations. The alignment is located in an arid environment with a variety of rock and cemented soil conditions along the 260 mile route through Arizona and Nevada. The program included evaluation of large diameter auger holes, deformed steel anchor bars and use of concrete additives. Program results are summarized in the paper.<>
