Effect of Natural Gargle Using Oriental Extract on Oral Dryness and Halitosis

Abstract

Objectives: This study was conducted to provide basic data for the development of natural gargle exhibits the effect of reducing oral dryness and halitosis by manufacturing gargle using natural oriental medicine extract. Methods: From June 2 to June 9, 2022, 24 subjects were divided into three groups(control group, natural gargle group, listerine group) and after using natural gargle for a week, a survey, saliva test, and halitosis test were conducted. Results: There was a statistically significant difference in improving the subject's objective halitosis and oral dryness for the use of natural gargle. Conclusions: The use of natural gargle using oriental medicine extracts is effective in improving halitosis and dryness, so it is expected to be used in the development of natural gargle that does not contain chemicals in future gargle development
