Abstract

Editors are like invisible soldiers. Charles Pelanne shaped the Journal of Thermal Insulation in the early 1980s, when, subsequent to the energy crisis, thermal insulation became a fashionable word, at least in North America. His professional dedication and engagement in activities of ASTM Thermal Insulation committee (C16) made this Journal a leading techmcal publication in the field. It is only natural that we dedicate this issue of the Journal to his memory.
