Patients encrypt their data and store it on remote servers, allowing multiple parties access to specific sections of their medical records. Key pairs and re-encryption keys are initially generated and stored on a semi-trusted proxy and re-encryption server (SRS). This approach is safe because it uses both forward and backward access control and guards against insider threats. Using High-Level Petri Nets, we formally investigate and verify the efficacy of this strategy (HLPN).
