Masse médiastinale crâniale associée à une insuffisance rénale : un cas de thymome chez un chat Persan

Abstract

Ce cas clinique rapporte l’évolution clinique et radiographique sur trois ans d’un chat présentant une masse médiastinale crâniale associée à des lésions rénales. Le diagnostic de thymome a été établi par examen histopathologique. La nature des lésions rénales n’a jamais été déterminée, mais compte tenu de l’aspect échographique, des métastases du thymome ou un lymphome sont fortement suspectées. L’objectif principal de cet article est de souligner les similitudes entre le thymome et le lymphome thymique et par extrapolation la difficulté de les différencier.

This clinical case reports clinical and radiographic evolution over 3 years of a cat with a cranial mediastinal mass associated with kidney damage. The diagnosis of thymoma has been established by histopathology. The nature of renal lesions has never been determined, but the ultrasound pictures are compatible with metastatic process of a thymoma or a lymphoma. The main objective of this paper is to highlight the similarities between the thymoma and thymic lymphoma and then the difficulty to establish a difference between theses affections.
