Contribution to the analysis of the electromagnetic field radiated by lightning taking into account the conductivity of the ground

Abstract

The interest of this paper is the analysis of the electromagnetic field radiated by lightning under a homogeneous soil (the conductivity of the finite soil) and in air, characterized by a finite conductivity. The calculation of the electromagnetic field radiated by the return arc phase of a downward lightning strike has been successfully performed. The computer implementation of this calculation has been done by developing a simulation program under MATLAB environment which offers very interesting.
