Abstract
Design method of a computer-generated hologram for reduction of the focused beam size is demonstrated. The key points are an arrangement of parallel beams and a specific constraint of their phases and amplitudes in the iterative Fourier transform algorithm. The focused beam was reduced to 75% or less of the diffraction limit.
