Abstract

The main role of an early warning system is to enable people and authorities to save lives and goods when a disaster occurs. For example, in case of floods, a warning released with enough time before the event will allow the reservoir workers to boil down water levels gradually, hospitals to be prepared to receive a large number of patients, people to fortify their homes and last, but not least, authorities to provide help.
