Abstract

At the present time the development of gyrotrons and related devices is being stimulated by the demand for high-power microwaves to heat tokamak plasmas to fusion temperatures and for new radar applications. The development of low-power gyrotrons and their applications has largely been ignored. At Sydney University we are developing such low-power devices for spectroscopy and plasma scattering.
