Abstract

In this report, we present a systematic design and implementation of the Smart Console for vehicles which makes use of fingerprint for the purpose of vehicle ignition. The system includes on board hardware construction through digital display with a speedometer (Speed indicated in kmph), odometer (Distance covered in km). It also includes light intensity control for headlight using LDR and timer circuits. To realize the fingerprint ignition system, MSP430 is used to interface with the module. The fingerprint recognition system enables fingerprints of valid users of the vehicle to be enrolled in a database and the engine gets ignited only if the prints match.
