Abstract

In order to solve the air gap problem in the coaxial transmission / reflection method, an improved coaxial measurement structure is proposed. It consists of two coaxial structures with 50 Ω characteristic impedance and the same size of cross sections. When measuring the electromagnetic parameters of the materials with this structure, two sets of specimens are needed. One is used for calibration while another is for measurement. Accurate measurement results can be obtained with no need to modify the data by algorithm.
