Why are people concerned about the procedural justice? From the perspective of individual needs and outcome fairness

Abstract

∗Previous research has shown that interactional injustice is positively associated with the need for meaning, and that procedural justice interacts with outcome fairness to influence employees’ work attitudes and behaviors. In this study, we posit that (a) individuals’ dominant growth needs motivate their concerns for moral principles of justice, (b) individuals who pay great attention to moral principles are likely to be concerned about procedural justice, Results from a survey with 860 respondents provide support for (a) and (b).
