Mining Dump Trucks Electrical Traction Equipment Improvement

Abstract

Complete set of electrical traction equipment for dump trucks include induction electrical drives of the left and right back wheels, the synchronous generator with excitation system and the high level controller, which coordinate work of all units according to position of control elements and a movement mode of the truck. The electrical equipment is influenced by a number of climatic, mechanical, life time and even human factors at dump truck operation. It is impossible to take into consideration all of them in design stage. Improvement of protection system, braking algorithms, cooling system, service tools is described based on dump trucks working experience.
