Study on effect of plant growth regulators on growth and yield of tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill)

Abstract

The experiment was conducted during Rabi season 2021-22 at Horticulture Research Farm, Barrister & The treatments consisted of different doses of plant growth regulators viz ., control plot (T 1 ), GA 3 -60 ppm (T 2 ), GA 3 -80 ppm (T 3 ), GA 3 -100 ppm (T 4 ), NAA-80 ppm (T 5 ), NAA-100 ppm (T 6 ) , NAA-120 ppm (T 7 ), 2, 4D-5 ppm (T 8 ), 2, 4D- 10 ppm (T 9 ), 2, 4D-15 ppm (T 10 ). Significantly, maximum no. of fruit 24.01 was found in T 7, fruit weight 44.01 gm. in T 7 , days of first fruit harvesting 58.14 days in T 7 and highest yield 393.94 qha -1 in T 7 at harvest.
