Evaluación funcional posterior a la pulgarización en hipoplasia de pulgar mediante uso de T-GAP score

Se ha desarrollado la T-GAP score, evaluación diseñada con el propósito de determinar la utilidad y funcionalidad de la mano y el índice pulgarizado en pacientes con hipoplasia de pulgar tipos III B, IV y V de la clasificación de Blauth modificada por Manske y McCarroll. Objetivo: Evaluar la función de los índices pulgarizados y manos mediante el instrumento T-GAP score. Material y métodos: Estudio observacional, descriptivo, trans-versal. Resultados: La edad en la que se realizó el tratamiento quirúrgico tiene un promedio de 7.314 años. El promedio de edad en la que se realizó la T-GAP score es de 10 años. En relación al resultado funcional de la T-GAP score total en promedio es de 57.42% de función global. La función del índice pulgarizado es en promedio 77.14%. Se encuentra una asociación de menor edad en que se realiza la pulgarización del dedo índice y mayor resultado funcional de la pinza y empuñadura (p = 0.005). Conclusiones: El uso de la T-GAP score en pacientes sometidos a pulgarización para tratar la hipoplasia del pulgar en sus tipos III-B, IV y V es completamente viable, dada la sencillez de su aplicación y aplicabilidad en diferentes grupos de edad. Abstract Introduction: Hypoplasia of the thumb is a congenital developmental deficiency of the thumb. The incidence is 1/100,000 live births. In these patients it is of vital importance to establish function after the surgical procedure. The T-GAP score has been developed, an evaluation designed with the purpose of determining the usefulness and functionality of the thumbed hand and index finger in patients with thumb hypoplasia types III B, IV and V of the Blauth classification modified by Manske and McCarroll. Objective: To assess the function of the thumbed index fingers and hands using the T-GAP score instrument. Material and methods: Observational, descrip- tive, cross-sectional. Results: The average age at which surgical treatment was performed is 7.314 years. The average age at which the T-GAP test was performed is 10 years. In relation to the functional result of the total T-GAP test, on average it is 57.42% of global function. The function of the thumb index, on average, is 77.14%. There is an association between the younger age at which the index finger is thumbed, the higher the functional result of the grip and grip (p = 0.005). Conclusions: The use of the T-GAP score in patients undergoing thumbsplasty to treat types III-B, IV and V thumb hypoplasia is completely feasible given the simplicity of its application and applicability in different age groups.
