Business Games were held to set goals and understand the strategy and tactics of achieving them. The formation of focus on the successful professional activity of students of the experimental group was accompanied by a focus on academic success, the transformation of a cognitive motive into a professional one, growth of achievement motivation and self-efficacy. Abstract

The article reveals the essence of the concept of “focus on successful professional activity” and the relevance of its formation in future managers in the process of learning at a university. The methods and techniques of its formation are given that were used in the experiment. As part of contextual learning, modelling, the project method, the creating of success situations and other innovative technologies were used. Business Games were held to set goals and understand the strategy and tactics of achieving them. The formation of focus on the successful professional activity of students of the experimental group was accompanied by a focus on academic success, the transformation of a cognitive motive into a professional one, growth of achievement motivation and self-efficacy. This is also characteristic of students in the control group but to a lesser extent.
