Abstract

Microwave frequency standards based on ions have made great progress over the past decades; a microwave atomic clock based on laser cooled 113Cd+ ions at Tsinghua University is carried out for about five years. In order to further improve the performance of the clock, a new experiment setup with dual traps and two kinds of ions was proposed. This paper reports our recent experimental progress of the new dual-traps microwave frequency standard based on 113Cd+ ions.
