Smart City Governance and the challenge of digital platforms within the public sector

Abstract

This paper focuses on a compared analysis of the ongoing “platformization” and on the so-called Government-as-a-Platform (GaaP) approach applied to Smart City-paradigm. Specifically, the digital transformation of the public sector is observed under the light of the main challenges that have been introduced by digital platforms for traditional local governance models.
