Abstract
Generally, power engineering equipment is not designed to nicely transmit high frequency signals as used for partial discharge measurement and monitoring. For distributed equipment, such as transformers or rotating machines, the related effects, such as dispersion, attenuation, reflection, etc. already hamper partial discharge measurements in the frequency range of the IEC60270.
