The Meteorological Office Archive and its Use in Support of Shipping and Offshore Interests

Abstract

This paper describes the United Kingdom Meteorological Office archive of marine data. There is some discussion of the relative merits of the various types of observations which are available and comment upon the use of the archive to answer enquiries from marine interests.
