With the use of inverted S- and L-shaped monopole strips accompanying the antenna, multi-resonant modes close to 2.5 / 3.5 / 5.5 GHz bands are excited to meet the specifications of LTE /WLAN system. The obtained impedance bandwidth across the operating bands can reach about 1460 / 848 MHz for the 2.5 / 3.5 / 5.5 GHz bands, respectively. Our model can develop the compact operation with more than 15 % antenna size reduction for suitably embedding into the portable devices as overall antenna dimension is only set to 20 × 15 mm2.
