Abstract
One of the radar components that has an important role is the antenna. The antenna functions as a transmitter and receiver for electromagnetic waves. Electromagnetic waves emitted through radar antennas will be reflected when they hit objects. This paper proposes a multiband antenna for S-band radars in the range of 2 GHz – 4 GHz and C-band radars in the range of 4 GHz – 8 GHz. The antenna is designed with return loss S11 < 9.54 dB and VSWR < 2. The antenna is designed using rectangular shape microstrip and patch with Fractal Hilbert Curve. The antenna that is realized is using Epoxy FR-4 substrate with a relative permittivity $\varepsilon_{r} = 4.3$ and thickness h = 1.6 mm. The test results show that there are 3 working frequencies, namely 2.24 GHz, 3.46 GHz, and 4.86 GHz. At the frequency of 2.24 GHz obtained S11 which is at-15.7 dB and VSWR 1.3, at frequency 3.46 GHz obtained S11 which is at −14.06 dB and VSWR 1.4, and at frequency 4.86 GHz obtained S11 which is at −38.2 dB and VSWR of 1.02. From the results obtained, the antenna designed meets the specified specifications.
