NATURAL LIGHT IN PUBLIC SPACES. THE EXAMPLE OF THE CITY CENTRE OF RZESZÓW

Abstract

The issue of existence and influencing the perception of space of the fourth dimensional elements, such as light, sound or digital reality, is extremely complex and difficult to diagnose. One of the phenomena affecting the quality of space is light, both natural and artificial. The article presents three examples of public spaces along with the assessment of selected light indicators such as: exposure, illumination, shadows, contrasts, colours, penetration and mood. The analyses were carried out for two weather conditions: cloudy and sunny, at three points in time: in the morning, noon and evening hours. The summary presents general and specific conclusions.
