Abstract

The paper explains oscillations of an electromagnetic torque of a synchronous generator, which are caused by the terminal voltage variation. These oscillations have a negative influence on mechanical part of a power generation system.The analysis of oscillations of the electromagnetic torque of the synchronous generator, which are caused by terminal voltage variation, was made analytically and by the method of mathematical modeling.The presented results show the dependence of the oscillation frequency of the electromagnetic torque on the frequency of the rotation of rotor. The results of mathematical modeling showed the influence of the generator load and the sign of the terminal voltage increment on the amplitude and character of the electromagnetic torque oscillations of the synchronous generator.
