Abstract

It was shown that high power microwave pulses (HPMP) did not cause any direct genotoxic effects on native frog erythrocytes, human whole-blood leukocytes and isolated lymphocytes exposed in vitro. It was found that exposure of water solutions to HPMP induced formation of hydrogen peroxide in nanomolar concentrations due to the mechanism of thermoacoustic activation of dissolved oxygen. It was revealed that HPMP could produce anti-inflammatory effect which is comparable with the action of therapeutic doses of sodium diclofenac.
