Abstract

This paper describes the interference problem of a fixed transmitter driven by an alternating current (AC) power source during intra-body communication. The fixed transmitter is strongly electrically coupled with the ground through the AC power source. We believe that the interference signal of a fixed transmitter is larger than that of a wearable transmitter driven by a battery. We investigated the interference problem of a fixed transmitter through an electromagnetic field simulation. The interference signal of the fixed transmitter was larger than that of the wearable transmitter, but the correct-to-interference ratio of the fixed transmitter was almost equal to that of the wearable transmitter with the same simulation model. The correct-to-interference ratio was improved by reducing the electrode size of the fixed transmitter. It was confirmed that the Cu wall located between two people is effective in preventing interference.
