Abstract

Due to population aging and advancements in healthcare, in recent years the costs of medical services have dramatically increased. However, in digital era there are many opportunities for saving on medical costs by applying modern medical techniques, such as robot-assisted surgery or robots in the healthcare workforce, or at least for preventing their further increase. The advancements in data processing contribute to better and more efficient diagnostics, leading to better defining of necessary therapy for elderly patients further reducing the medical costs of their healthcare. Increased health promotion and education via digital means may contribute to better health protection and prevention, as well as stop spreading of diseases and decrease the requests for health care.
