On the evaluation of computer systems for robot control

Abstract

The calculation load of different logical and arithmetic operations and the capabilities of several computer systems are evaluated. This analysis reveals that some limitations can be alleviated through the adoption of techniques associated with the data representation. Such techniques not only achieve more efficient management of the computational resources but also provide deeper insight into developments for future control architectures.<>
