Abstract

Due to frequent action, AC filter (ACF) circuit breaker is more prone to abnormalities and faults than conventional line circuit breaker. For the 750kV AC voltage level in UHV converter station, the ACF circuit breaker is subjected to severe working conditions. This paper takes the 750kV ACF circuit breaker with pre-insertion resistor as the research object, takes a case of abnormal closing inrush current and a case of grounding fault as the research content, and inverts the process and cause of the fault through simulation analysis and disassembly inspection. According to the research of this paper, the effectiveness of simulation calculation in fault analysis can be verified, and the harm of pre-insertion resistor structure to filter bank circuit breaker is further clarified.
