Abstract
We propose a novel and simple method for constructing a switchable polarization-independent Fresnel lens using blue phase liquid crystal (BPLC)/polymer composite films, the maximum diffraction efficiency reaches 36 % regardless of the polarization state of incident light, which approaches the theoretical limit ∼41 %.
