Expression of GIS maps based on Flex

Abstract

The expression of electronic map was analyzed in the traditional Internet GIS and the relevant information about GIS integrated with Flex-based RIA (Rich Internet Application) was described in this paper. In addition, a new expression way of GIS electronic map was discussed too. The page mode of book was applied to Internet GIS to show the current multi-source and multi-type of electronic map. The research was studied mainly from the aspects of the structure of the design, data source management and the expression design, etc. Characteristics and some application ranges about the GIS-EBook were also listed. A practical system which was an atlas, was developed in the paper. The feasibility and correctness of the proposed method was verified by the experimental results.
