RELEVANCE OF THE SYSTEMATIZATION OF PERIOPERATIVE NURSING ASSISTANCE FOR PATIENT SAFETY: INTEGRATIVE REVIEW

Abstract

Objective: to analyze, through reading the objectives, the relevance of the Systematization of Perioperative Nursing Care for patient safety. Methodology: This is an integrative review, in which 13 articles related to the topic published between the years 2015 and 2019 were collected in the LILACS, Pubmed and SCIELO databases, in April 2019. Results: The authors evidenced the The importance of the application of the Systematization of Perioperative Nursing Care, however, it was verified that the patient safety practices, although it is ensured with the adhesion of the checklist, is not yet performed by all nurses, in addition, The surgical team must be fully committed to carrying out its activities aimed at the patient’s well-being, making the environment as safe as possible without the occurrence of failures or unforeseen events that cause harm or harm to the patient. Final considerations: the surgical nursing team should seek to better understand the importance of the checklist’s adhesion, considering it an instrument that can be used to reduce the risks in the surgical act, besides providing an adequate postoperative recovery and thus reducing possible complications.
