Abstract
We demonstrate a passively Q-switched ytterium doped double-clad fiber laser with Cr4+: YAG saturable absorber. At a pump power of 9.8W, 143ns duration output pulses with 18.5µJ energy are obtained at a repetition rate of 253KHz.
